I'm looking for advice on my next major purchase. I'm interested in buying a workstation keyboard and midi controller that I can use as a tool for live performance as well as for composing within my DAW - after checking the stuff in my price range, I've tentatively narrowed it down to the NI Komplete Kontrol S88 and the MODX8, but I'm open to other suggestions as well.
Here's the thing -My strategy for making synth patches is to find a preset as close to my idea as possible and use that as a shortcut to the patch I've envisioned. I want to be able to use my keyboard to do a ton of DAW automation and (hopefully) be able to load VST parameters on there as quickly as possible so I can easily dive into knob-twiddling.
From what I understand, some workstations have that ability while others don't - are either of my choices gonna be able to do that? And if not, which workstation should I be choosing?
