Risk of using two inputs simultaneously on monitor (KRK Rokit5)

I'm taking my gear on a weekend away, and trying to minimize what I need to bring.

I want to plug in my LP and my OP-1; was planning on bringing those, a KRK Rokit5 monitor, my 2-input USB interface, and my laptop.

On a lark, I plugged the OP-1 directly to the RCA input - and I could hear both the TRS input (LP via mixing board) and RCA input (OP-1) perfectly.

I found a 4 year old gearslutz post that basically said "No, never do that": https://www.gearslutz.com/board/newbie-audio-engineering-production-question-zone/799059-hooking-up-studio-monitors-multiple-inputs.html

...but the KRK manual says nothing about not doing it, and it seems to work perfectly.

Any thoughts? Am I risking damage to the speaker?
