All I know is Ableton stock synths. What am I missing out on?

I have been learning sound design since the beginning of the year, using pretty much solely Ableton's Analog. As a learning/creativity catalyst I want to learn the few tools I have before trying new things.

I have gotten so much done through Analog (and Operator occasionally for percussion and extra weird sounds), and I feel no motivation to expand and buy more synths (excluding modular). Oh yes, and I have used Syntorial's primer which feels quite meh relative to what I'm used to.

What do you think of Ableton's stock synths, compared to pricey VST's and hardware synths?

Right now I cannot see myself getting more soft-synths, and definitely not hardware synths unless I'm going into the modular world (which I will do when I can make music I'm happy with within Ableton first). What do you think of such an attitude? Is such minimalism positive or am I seriously missing out on the joy and versatility of synthesis?
