Vortex Sound Research

I'm pretty new to sending / receiving MIDI / CV and what-have-you, can anyone tell me what hardware would be involved (or whether it's even possible) to use the SQ-1 to sequence an iPad synthesizer? Or whether there is a more suitable sequencer for use with an iPad? I'm using primarily Animoog. Many thanks in advance.
