Vortex Sound Research

Hello, I am having issues with the after touch on my Yamaha DX7 (original version). After Touch always seems to be triggering at full level even when only playing a note at lowest velocity/no pressure. It does this for all keyboards notes and every preset sound. I can disable after touch settings but I think it's an issue with the hardware for the after touch sensor? Any idea how I can fix this?
