First Synth Purchase (Juno)

Hey all, noob post here. I’m looking at purchasing my first synth. I have a pretty basic setup (laptop, headphones, interface, MIDI keyboard.) I’m heavily inspired by synth sounds of artists like Tame Impala, Blood Orange, Aphex Twin, Grimes, Mac DeMarco, etc. Plugins and VST’s don’t interest me at all. Been wanting a Juno 106 for a long time now, however I hear it’s quite problematic with the voice chips, and how usually you need to get repairs. People have also told me about the Deepmind 12 but I want something a bit more user-friendly for being new. Someone quite close to me is selling the 106 in near-mint condition for $2,900. I’m thinking if all goes well, try to get them down to $2,500, I’m a student who’s been saving for a very long time. Seller has said I can come over and play on it and check out everything. But it seems a bit pricey, even when considering some are on eBay for $3-5k. Just curious on what you guys think I should do? Should I invest in the Juno if all good, or consider another synth either modern or retro? Thanks. Smile
