What does the Arturia Keystep do?

Synth noob here. Like.... very new. I’m trying to break into creating my own music. I picked up a digital piano a few months ago and I’ve been learning theory and how to play, but what I want to have more layers besides just a piano.

So I think I’ll be picking up a Keystep soon, but I’m not really sure what I’m gonna be able to do with it. My assumption is that I’ll be able to put some notes together, maybe loop a backing rhythm—maybe layer over it with my piano or something. I also have Reaper, and I’m guessing I’ll eventually connect everything there, but again I’m not really sure.

The TL;DR is: What can I create with just the Keystep? ELI5.

Edit: I’ll also be using Reaper.

Edit 2: Thanks for the responses. And whoever is downvoting me, please don’t shame me for wanting to learn this stuff—that’s some straight up BS. I’ve shown respect to you all by asking your expert opinion, all I want is that in return. And I’ve done more research on my own since I posted this but I wouldn’t have known where to start without your advice. Sorry to get butthurt but I want to create some music just like all of you, and this handy forum website called Reddit helps to give me the ability to start, so I’m gonna do that. If you don’t like how I’m going about it that’s on you.
