N00b asking for help! Making a very very basic modular!

Hello everyone!

I was playing with VCV Racks and made a very basic patch about FM modulation: basically one VCO as a carrier, 3 VCOs as modulators and 4 LFOs to alter the sine waveforms of the carrier and of the modulators.

Pretty easy yet "oddly satisfying", I really have a lot of fun with the sounds I am getting out if it!

And, of course, I started wondering if I could make it "hardware". Of course I can but I am a little bit scared about the prices! I've peeked around and I've noticed that VCOs and LFOs are damn expensive!

My idea is to have something very very basic since hardware modular synth is not my hobby and I am not going to spend hundreds of euros for a one time shot...

Hence my question: is there a way to realize 4 VCOs + 4 LFOs in the most cheap possible way? DIY is absolutely fine! Knobs to modulate FM and waves are mandatory: check it out here....

Hey, if my question sounds n00bish... I know. I am 110% n00b in this field. Every intelligent advice is welcome!
