Help me choose my first analog synth!

Hey gang!

I've been making music for infinity years now, but almost exclusively on guitar, bass and drums. (rock background). Lately, I've been producing with more the mentality of making instrumentals for artists other than myself, and the genres have spanned greatly.

I have been taking piano lessons, specifically jazz, and it has opened up a whole new world for me. I currently use a MIDI keyboard and some VSTs for practicing/recording. However, I feel like I really need a hardware synth to get better at:

  1. playing keys. Because right now, I can do a shitty take, and then edit the MIDI.

  2. Making synth patches, because I mainly work off of presets.

I want something simple, and versatile. I've become quite comfortable with my TAL U-NO, and love the sounds I get. Anything more complex and I get a bit lost so I want something with little to no menu diving (sliders and knobs are Kool), and something that can achieve sounds that the JUNO can't, because I believe I have those sounds covered.

For reference, most of the music tends to be in Neo-Soul, Lo-Fi, Indie Rock, and Hip-Hop. Budget under $2k. Thank you!
