Help with getting starting with hardware synthesizers

Hi there, I've been recently thinking on getting myself a small synth to begin experimenting with hardware gear.

I'm not new to synthesis, but fairly new to creating tracks. I've been learning to produce for like 2 years now, but all my ideas sound oddly bad. Also I feel like I'm really missing a lot of music theory and I kinda lost my self teaching skill and I just can't learn theorical stuff on the internet anymore.

So having in mind that I know the basics of synthesis I wanted to start making tracks with real gear, also tracks in a different genre that I normally try to. I want make some sort of soft ambience music with some arpeggiated/step sequenced synth bits.

I was thinking on getting an Arturia KeyStep 37 cause it's on my budget limit for a step sequencing Midi keyboard. And was also feeling like buying an Arturia Microfreak because of some reviews I watched. But I would like to know some opinions on this.

I was also wanting to buy Omnisphere VST because is an awesome soft synth, but, and this might be just me thinking, I think that soft synths and hard synths have some real sounding differences. Omnisphere besides having some huge sample libraries, also have a ton of ways you can manipulate your sounds, whether ur using waves or samples.

I'll also list here some stuff I have already in case you think that buying gear now would just be kinda of unnecessary waste of money, due to me having some stuff that would get me to the same place.

So my gear and VSTs I currently have are: -Arturia Keylab Essential 49 -Akai MPK mini 2 -Maschine Mikro -Arturia V Collection 7 -Kilohearts Ultimate Tool Box subscription -Komplete Start (I guess, it comes with Maschine Mikro) -Guitar Rig 6 Pro And this is mostly the stuff I use.

Thanks for your time, and in advance thanks for your answers

Edit: Also was considering Novation Circuit
