I'm mainly a DAW controlled environment where I control external hardware with Ableton. I want to dabble in some modular though and so I'm working on integrating some CV-only items.
Most of my synths are newer digital units with USB, but a few are older so I use the MIDI interface from my Scarlett, devices chained with DIN5, each getting a discrete channel.
How to target a CV-only device like a Werkstatt for clock and control? Can't specify a channel. I found a few eurorack MIDI-CV interfaces but I'm not euroracking yet. Found Some DIY projects using a USB Digispark board but they get bad reviews and it's complicated. USB -> CV would be ideal though.
Ableton CV tools gets mentioned in some reading, and I kinda understand it but unclear what the physical interface is that CV tools works through.
