I’m not usually technically challenged but this one beats me.
I’m trying to send a Brain Surgery sysex file to my new Mutant Brain. I hold the button down when powering on the system, Mutant Brain indicates readiness by two constantly on LEDs.
The upload does start but pretty much immediately the Mutant Brains LEDs change from both constantly on to the left one off and the right one blinking twice before a longer break, then repeating.
I’ve tried from Windows 10 with MIDI-OX and 2 different USB2MIDI cabled that I successfully sent sysex data before with. I also tried from MacOS with SysExLibrarian. On the Windows PC I’ve changed USB ports.
From Windows, I can use the same port / cable to transmit data to the Mutant Brain and it does what it should, so MIDI transfer in general works.
When I change the output buffer size in MIDI-OX to some small number I can see that the error state (?) (the blinking LEDs) starts after the first buffer has been sent, but before the whole content has been transmitted.
The behaviour is the same whether I upload my desired sysex patch or the “Default (Mutant Brain).syx” one that can be downloaded which is linked in the manual.
