Different quantizers output DIFFERENT voltages?

*TLDR:*I realised different quantizers put out different voltages which makes them unusable in tandem. That can't be right, can it?

So this has me seriously baffled and I've done a lot of testing these last days. So far I was under the impression that quantized voltage is just that: quantized voltage. When preparing for a live set I noticed that some stuff was seriously out of tune and I did some testing. I basically send the same voltage into 4 modules that (should) output quantized voltage, ran that through 2 different oscillators (to rule out a problem there) and checked the pitch with a very accurate tuner (and my ears).

The "quantizers" arePams New Workout, Disting MK4 (quantiser mode), Stages (quimem's Firmware, orange segment) and mmMidi (with Midi from Ableton Live)

The OSCs arePlaits (4th green mode, sine wave) and Klavis Twin Waves (sine wave)

And the tuning results look like this:

  • Plaits
  • Pamelas New Workout -22ct
  • Disting 0ct
  • Stages +4ct
  • mmMidi output2 +16ct
  • mmMidi output1 +40ct
  • Twin Waves
  • Pams workout -21ct
  • Disting 0ctStages +4ct
  • mmMidi output2 +16ct
  • mmMidi output1 +45ct

I took the Disitng as a base line just because. That doesn't mean it's the most accurate. Only the relative difference counts. And that's A LOT of relative difference. 10cents is already very audible to the untrained ear and between Pams and the mmMidi we have over 60cents. And that's just one note, the difference goes above 100cents (more than a half step) if you track the whole octave range.

**So basically what I am asking is:**What am I missing? Did I make a very basic mistake? Because this makes quantized voltage from different modules unusable in a situation where tuning counts (and even if you don't really mind, a 60cent different will sound VERY ugly).

Are my modules just badly calibrated? Can I recalibrate? I mean I do realise that it seems my mmMidi is busted, because the the two outputs should definitely put out the same voltage.

For now the only workaround seems to be running everything through the same quantizer which seems severely limited and basically defeats the purpose of modules that output pre-quantized voltages.

Please help? ?

P.S.This is my rack if that could create the problem? Dunno just reaching for answers...https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/1774640I am using the Konstant Lab BoardPWR PSU.
