Guitar through Behriner neutron?

Should I be able to modulate a guitar with neutron? I only found one youtube video which patches neutron so that the guitar goes through the filter.. I'd like to make some really spacey experiments with the synth. 
Also one search result from reddit mentioned to patch guitar straight to att1, which I'm not able to setup right now..
