Hard to turn attenuverters issue

I got a Beads a while ago and one of the attenuverters felt loose until I reached a certain point in which it got harder to turn to the max. I could even feel a hump before it started. It was the mix knob so no big deal, I figured I would just replace it some time.

Well I just got a Metropolix and the Y attenuverter feels normal but is REALLY hard to turn past 3 o clock. This is a module I wouldn’t feel comfortable taking apart so I’m wondering what the cause of it is and how I could fix it.

I’ve been rotating it over and over in hopes that it’s grease that’s causing the extra resistance but it’s not helping. What would cause this issue? Can I fix it without disassembling the module?

I have over 400hp of eurorack and this is the first and second time I’ve ever seen this issue. Since both modules were made this year I’m guessing shortages and delays have caused a drop in QC.
