PreenFM3 problems… can any preenFM users help?

I recently got my hands on a pre-built PreenFM3 synth from Van Daal Electronics. I’ve learned my way around it pretty good so far, but I have 2 huge issues with it that are deal-breakers for probably anyone:

1- I get an audible “pop” sound out of any audio output, regardless of what patch I am using. It sounds like a DAC buffer unable to keep up, if you know that sound… just a brief disappearance of the signal but it happens every few seconds. This happens on USB and 9v power, and the CPU% is far from maximum, I only use a single FM program at a time routed to a single audio output without FX and it still happens.

2- Very frequently, MIDI notes get stuck playing even when I’m not depressing a key. I’m using the 5-pin DIN MIDI input and this happens with multiple MIDI controllers- I send MIDI to the preenFM with a powered MIDI-Thru splitter. It seems like the “Note Off” MIDI message isn’t being interpreted… I have a bunch of other synths and I’ve never had this issue with any of them. If I play the keys for about 30 seconds, I usually end up with these hung notes.

I’m using the latest official firmware (v109) and don’t see any issues like this in the official forum. Does anybody else have this hardware that can confirm they either do, or don’t have the same issue?
