Think I might have just bought two modules that sound the same

I have been looking at roland modules for rackmounting. I had 1u and half a 1u of space and thought i'd fill them with some cheap ps1 sounding general midi units. I listened to both on youtube vids, and thought they sounded different. Then upon reading articles such as https://www.retrobee.net/blog/midi-module-buying-guide-for-retro-gaming I think they might actually sound nearly identical and it may be useless to have one of them. I'd probably keep the half width unit since it would free up a whole row. I havent received the half-width one yet but am anticipating it sounding very similar. The purpose of this rack is 90s/2000s themed, for dungeon-synth and alternative variants of synthwave with familiar rompler sounds intended. I dont need FM because I am controlling the rack via a digitakt+digitone combo. I often sample the units rather than use them in real time but after tweaking the sounds and then further on the takt.

Also if anyone has any good ideas for something to replace it with, i'd be happy to hear it. My rack is a shallow 5u flight case. Currently has (by row, top to bottom): 1. Roland JV-1010 + Roland XV-2020 2. E-mu Proteus 1 3. Korg 05R/W + Roland SC-88VL 4. Alesis S4 5. Roland M-GS64

Edit: Should really clarify, the two modules im talking about that will sound the same are Roland SC-88VL and Roland M-GS64
