Hello, I would like something that I can use for playing various samples on top of something else and also for triggering backing tracks.
Used to use Roland SP404SX, which did the job perfectly - i press a pad, the sample plays, i put some effect on it, i press another pad, backing track plays, never any issue even with 7 minutes long samples.
Im obviously underutilizing the 404, since i dont need the sequencer, i dont need any sampling abilities. Just to play preloaded samples. Is there something simpler/smaller on the market?

I just need a box that plays a sample when i press the pad. Using ipad with a 404 clone worked as well, but those touch screens are just to fiddly. Maybe the ipad app + a hardware pad controller would be good as well.
