How does SURVIVE get their vocally sounds?

First minute you'll hear what I'm talking about. It's super subtle. I saw on another post here that they probably use a sample for some of their sounds, like in Cutthroat, but I'm interested by whatever this is. You can hear it again at 5:00. Is it actually just a sampler?
