Is my volca keys messed up or is there a reason for this?

New to synths and all this stuff. I have a korg volca keys and I just got a boss dr-220A drum machine like yesterday

When I use the sync out from the dr-220A into the volca nothing happens but when I go from the headphone jack to the sync-in on the keys they do sync up

I noticed the same thing with a cheap little Casio keyboard I have. It doesn’t even have a sync-out or a midi connection but when I use the headphone jack I can control the volca with it

Maybe this is normal I’m just curious why it syncs up when the audio is coming from a headphone jack but not a sync-out? Also why it syncs up with audio from a headphone jack at all?

Casio sa-76 and the dr-220A is all I own so far so haven’t tested the volca with anything else

submitted by /u/imoan-
[link] [comments]
