Super Early Production Poly 800 Battery Addition

Hey all! I’ve got a very early production Poly 800 that my dad bought back in early ‘83. As he recalls, buying it pretty much as soon as they were released. We’re trying to get a few of his old synths back to tip top condition- This , a Moog Prodigy and a Polysix (battery disaster but almost back to “new”).

Since this is a super early production mk1 it not only doesn’t have the coin cell battery memory like the later units, it doesn’t even have the pads in place to add a battery like the early units ( not as early as this though!)

I’ve found a few people referencing a battery add mod involving tapping in to a trace and removing a diode and cap for these super early poly 800s but all links to pages explaining the mod to be dead.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

submitted by /u/thegreatbrendini
[link] [comments]
