Digitakt with drums & click track?

Does anyone here have any experience using the Digitakt with drums and sending a click to the drummer?

Quick context: I use the Digitakt mostly for sample-based loops and basslines rather than drums. In the past, the drummer has just played along to the DT through bog-standard monitoring, but suddenly we're talking about legit big venue gigs in a post-pandemic environment (deep breath) and I'm starting to freak out. It would be great to just have the option of sending a click to the drummer if in a worst-case scenario the monitoring was awful.

My idea is to set up a midi track on every pattern and midi out to a synth, which the drummer will use the headphone out on a basic cowbell sound or something similar. Seems excessive to buy something like a Korg Volca for a click track though... I'm also worried about midi delay. Also, sending a click to the left and everything else to the right is not an option – the DT has to be stereo out.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

submitted by /u/thierry3nnui
[link] [comments]
