Discussion on begginings of synth playing

Hi

I recently invested in some gear and i want to start composing something worth listning to
My gear is as follows:
-PC with Ableton
-Alesis VI25 as main midi controller and keybord for Microbrute as i have fingers of a bassist
-Microbrute
-Beatstep Pro

I generally like vibe of music by Infected Mushrooms, Entheogenic, Shpongle or Daft Punk and my background before electronic music is playing guitar and bass. We mainly jammed to the rythm of punk, rock and stoner rock. In addition to semi-good skills on bass i have a bit of knowledge on music theory and a lot of expirience in electronics so building my own stuff is for shure an option.

I would love to get some directions on how to get better especialy in making music live. Also in the longrun i would like to get rid of the need to use DAW but i know it is a bit of an investment.

submitted by /u/Granulka
[link] [comments]
