advice on free VST noise reducer / noise gate for vintage analog synths

i have an SH-101 that is quite noisy on output. i recently had it serviced and i know that this was an issue on that synth as well as many other vintage synths and drum machines, so i was wondering if anyone here has any tips or advice on noise reduction or gating with a free vst? using the eq on my mixer takes away too much signal. the noise is a high hiss mixed with a subtle note of ground hum! it's only obvious when nothing else is on and especially if i up the gain a bit.

also, has anyone found a fix to why the beatstep pro adds a ton of noise/interference when you use it via CV. it happened to me and i saw online that it was a known issue but didn't see any fix. it happens with my BOOG and my SH-101 and not even all the time.

thanks for any tips or hints people might have on either count!

submitted by /u/figital666
[link] [comments]
