Why do all drum synths have no mids?

So I have the Model:Cycles and I do love it but whenever I use it in my tracks with other synths I've noticed it sits really weird in the mix because there's no mid content. I often have to roll off high freq too. I've owned the Drumbrute Impact too with similar results. My question is is there a drum synth (not talking sampler) which has more meaty mid content? I want a meaty mid snare, not these toppy clicky ones.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Cycles. I'm looking for a drum synth where I can customise every drum part so the Cycles does tick most of the boxes. Basically design drum sounds from scratch with synthesis. A lot of the time with my tracks I make my own drum samples with the Korg Monologue and Arturia Microfreak but the process does take a bit too long.

Edit: I'm aware this'll cause a lot of debate. So bring it!!

Edit: If you disagree with my opinions about the Cycles and have a Cycles, please educate me on things I should try.

submitted by /u/Machine_Excellent
[link] [comments]
