Trying to understand the basics, plaits + beatstep pro = profit?

(quick fyi, i posted this in r/synthesizers by mistake but I meant to post it here, so apologies if you've seen the post already)

Hi everyone, I'm just dipping my toes into the world of modular. I love discovering and producing interesting noises and I'm finding everything modular a liiitle bit overwhelming but also amazing. I'm thinking of starting very small and working my way up as a young guy not earning very much so my question is, will I be able to make interesting tunes with nothing but a power supply, plaits and a beatstep pro.

The aim is to have fun jamming out and slowly add in additional modules when the financial situation allows for it. I do also have a korg monologue but are the things I mentioned above enough to get the ball rolling, in fact, would they even work together? (I'm thinking yes but I'm not sure if I'm missing any key info)

Thanks a lot everyone, sorry for the beginner question. keen to learn more!

submitted by /u/wekeymux
[link] [comments]
