Help with Microkorg XL

Hello! I'm completely new to this. So my husband has a microkorg XL and we didn't have any cords for it because of all the moving we have done. His poor keyboard (I hope that's what it should be called) has been sitting on various shelves without use for quite some time. For Christmas I decided to change that for him. So I bought a 1/4" AC adapter and by golly the thing still works. Next I bought two midi cables with a very surface level understanding of synthesizers and extensive research. What's my next step?? There's no sound obviously and I can't figure out how to remedy that. I can't find any speakers that take midi cables (I probably sound like an idiot). So how do I get sound? He has a computer that he's built, but the motherboard doesn't have midi input or whatever and his monitor sound sucks anyways. Do I even need the midi cables? Idk. I just want him to be able to use his synthesizer and hear it. I read that you can use headphones too, but I'm really leaning towards speakers. I have a budget of less than $200 preferably, if possible.

submitted by /u/Shattered-Comett
[link] [comments]
