can yamaha cp80/70 have clean clear tone?

Question to anyone who has experience with a yamaha cp 80 or cp 70, whether you can get relatively clean and clear tone out of them more resembling acoustic piano. Never played one in person but the recordings ive heard when it doesnt have chorus or other fx gives me impression the tone is a little handicapped/muffled almost nasal relative to a bright acoustic piano in comparison if that makes any sense.

Love the idea of a (theoretically) portable real hammer/strings piano, but wish i could find something more tonally bright/clean. I heard a recording of one which sounded really close to an acoustic except for the dead/thump-y bass range, but hard to say for sure thats representative, it wS an outdoor venue buried in mix of a rock band.

submitted by /u/Ihavezippers
[link] [comments]
