Microfreak midi question

So I tried googling this and couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for, maybe I’m just not working my search right. I have some experience with software synths but I’m looking to get a cheaper hardware synth that also can be used as a midi controller for my DAW(s), so Microfreak looks good. My question is: I understand Microfreak can be used as a controller in a DAW, what I would like to know is is it possible to have the MF controlling a software synth AND also outputting audio from the hardware at the same time? As in I push a key and the MF and soft synth both sound? So in theory I could record both at the same time. Or can it only do one or the other? Thanks for any insight

Edit: also sorry if this is a really dumb question I have no experience with hardware synths

submitted by /u/Vesuz
[link] [comments]
