ES-3 Lightpipe (ADAT vs S/PDIF?)

Thinking of getting an Expert Sleepers ES-3 to send CV from Ableton to my rack. Does this device connect to the S/PDIF port on my computer? I see "ADAT" referenced much more often, and I need a sanity check that they are synonymous, or completely different.

Bonus question for those sequencing from Ableton: is it possible to send CV from sources other than CV tools? Or rather, any sequencer within Ableton/M4L, but sent eventually through CV tools? Thanks!

submitted by /u/mini_thins
[link] [comments]
