DIY Strega

The Strega has been luring me in with its siren call of late but before I succumb and buy one, I thought to myself: could I actually make something similar with composite modules....? To overly simplify, Strega is basically input + oscilator + delay + filter + lfo so....

Audio Input => Any input module could work here but Interstellar Radio or Skorn da Bask could add some fun character (and extra drone). Cheaper option could be Doepfer A-119 which has the envelope follower too...

Oscillator => I've read the Strega's oscillator isn't actually that interesting by itself so I would just use the Ensemble which I already have.... but this is where I'm most uncertain.

Filter => I feel like the MS-20's filter is quite similar (i.e. noisy) to the Strega so the Morgasmatron or Steve's MS-22

Delay => Lyra-FX seems the obvious choice here...

LFO => again, any... I'll use my trusty ochd.

Curious if folk who know Strega (or indeed modular) better than I do have any better suggestions

submitted by /u/oltcyeahyouknowme
[link] [comments]
