Arturia Keystep style sequencing on the Akai MPK mini plus?

I just recently bought the Akai MPK miniplus, and as far as hardware is concerned, its great, it has everything I'm looking for, but coming from the Arturia Keystep, its sequencer for me leaves much to be desired.

The Keystep has a really intuitive and easy workflow, where you simply hit record, and naturally play in the sequence you want to save, and then simply press play. It does this all without having to set the length of your sequence before hand, or establish the given step per note. Its an automatic and incredibly intuitive, enjoyable sequencing experience that I have not seen anywhere else.

I saw there was a 'record' button on the Akai, so I assumed it worked just the same, but apparently its more for DAW control than sequencing, which is kind of a let down. Is there any way to simply input sequences like this on the MPK mini plus like you do on the Akai?

It was so close to being a perfect small sized controller smh

submitted by /u/MelloCello7
[link] [comments]
