How can I get an arpeggiator that feels like how a person plays phrases?

(question from pianist, please excuse any stupidity)

Let us take a fairly common ornament on an expressive keyboard: play a chord then run up and down a few octaves with it. There are plenty of arps that will do this, but they all sound robotic. Its not swing I'm after, but dynamics modulation, polyrhythm awareness, tempo momentum push/pull etc.

Is there an ARP system I can look at with settings that lets me specify this kind of thing (though I might have a hard time specifying a romantic run versus a contemporary run by the numbers), or allows for defining a pattern by playing it, or maybe one with a library of arps that are like what humans do?

submitted by /u/entropy_pool
[link] [comments]
