If Analog Drive is fully analog, then why is there a buffer in the signal flow?

<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>I was just browsing its <a href="https://www.elektron.se/products/analog-drive/">product page</a> and came across <a href="https://i.imgur.com/Jvg7kK8.png">this</a> diagram. Interestingly enough there's a buffer right after the input.
