I understand that analog synths will drift , but this seems like a problem ...

New to the world of modular , the 0-coast and the Model D sparked my interest to get involved so my knowledge is limited , but I can't actually find anyone talking about this anywhere online so asking in here Smile
The Model D was behaving as expected , tuning a little bit off over the octaves but nothing drastic and totally useable . After re-arranging a few bits of gear , and ports/hubs in which USB cables were plugged in to my computer (receiving midi/cv from Ableton) , I noticed the tuning was way out , like 2 whole semitones out tho . I noticed the pitch audibly drifting down and then jumping back up . if it was a few cents I would accept this as normal for analog oscillators , but this is literally taking my A down to a B and back up again , its like there is voltage interference going on. u can hear the oscillator 'warble' really quickly every few seconds . I thought this might have something to do with the brand new Arturia 6u case I have (until other orders arrive this was the only 'module' in the rack btw) , so I put the Model D back in it's original case and the problem was still there !
It seems weird that this could be down to the mains power in my house , because I had been using the synth fine for a few days before this became a problem . The only difference I can think of is like I say , moving a couple of bits from the left to the right of the studio , and re-arranged usb/ports/hubs .

Any insight on this would be amazing cos I was just getting into the swing of things and then this has made it impossible to make music with the model D for me now .

submitted by /u/TichOMN
[link] [comments]
