Managing synth volume in a band setting

I come from a long bass playing background and have recently dipped into playing a synthesizer (Korg Minilogue) in a band setting. I find it quite difficult to control the volume of my synth sound over the other instruments, as the analogue filter sweeps tend to also have a massive effect on the volume (depending on the patch). I was wondering if I should be using a limiter pedal or other such solution to limit the volume hike caused by sweeping the filter?

I'm playing mostly high leads or pads through a rather robust PA system (Minilogue --> mixer --> PA). We play primarily high dynamic and volume rock (think Foo Fighters, Dinosaur Jr, Jack White) with a guitarist, a bass player and a heavy-handed drummer.

submitted by /u/Shankbon
[link] [comments]
