Erica Drum Mixer owners - is your compressor extremely noisy too?

So I have an Erica Drum Mixer and anytime I turn the Compressor knob up, it gradually increases with a lot of noise/hiss. I understand some amount is expected, but it seems pretty extreme. Anything more than 9 or 10 o'clock becomes pretty unusable. Anyone else have this too? Thx in advance.
