Resonance causes certain notes to sound different?

I'm using my first analog synth, a Behringer Neutron, and I've noticed that if I have the resonance turned up, it causes a small range of notes to sound less filtered. I assume these are notes that are in tune with the filter cutoff, as changing the cutoff changes which notes sound less filtered accordingly. If I have the filter being heavily modulated by the LFO, doing slow sweeps across the entire range, it isn't quite smooth, there is a very noticeable 'bump' in the sound when the cutoff hits the note being played. With the resonance turned all the way down, this does not happen, but it doesn't take very much resonance for this effect to become noticeable. Is this common to all analog synths? Is there a way to compensate for this?
