What's a good bass synth?

Idk if this is allowed but i need some advice. I play bass guitar and really like the sound of of synth bass. All attempts to make my bass sound like a synth have been unsuccessful so I've decided to cave in and get a real synth. What are some good options for a versatile synth bass that is reasonably priced (under $1000)? I'd prefer somthing more "plug in play" rather than somthing really high tech as I'm not very knowledgeableabout synths. Any input or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in adviceSmile
