Questions about MC-303?

Seems really cool, very cheap and has classic Roland sounds.

Do I have to stop the sequencer to record a different track/sound? I can’t find any videos of any real improvisation. Just people playing their pre made sequences.

I plan to use this in a live setting, mostly for synth sounds synced up to a different drum machine.

If I can keep that sequence running and add piano then synth pads without hitting stop then this seems to be a good fit for me.

On the contrary, what are some other synths with those built-in mini keyboards?

I know Rm1x has one but seems very menu dive-y

Thx
