What’s a good synth for beginners?

Hi there! I’ve been wanting to get into synths for the longest time but I have no idea what to buy. I’m mainly into late 80s/early 90s industrial music (like early Skinny Puppy or KMFDM.) My budget isn’t huge (would that be a problem?) I’m also in Malaysia so the gear here is usually more expensive than the usual price. Any input from you guys would be much appreciated, thank you for your time ?
