Nano bod for Microfreak. Can someone explain what this is?

I don’t understand what this is. I THOUGHT someone had taken the “brains” of the Microfreak and made it so it didn’t have the touch keys but instead you could connect it to a midi keyboard or something but I’m not so sure that’s what this is. Can someone explain?
