very new to modular stuff, but i have a feeling i'm missing something like a semi-modular monosynth (or maybe it's just GAS, lol). the ms-20 is super cool but i feel like the filter is too similar to my polysix. yeah it's different but they're both dirty and whispy. minibrute2 doesn't appeal to me, don't like the sound. moog is cool but my wallet absolutely hates moog. the neutron seems like the be-all-end-all affordable semi-modular, but i haven't seen any impressive demos of it.
when i think about it, i kinda want something that can get sounds none of my other gear can, like fm sounds maybe. the reface dx is distinct in its character but the interface is as atrocious as any of the other dx's. semi-modular has been on my mind because it looks fun as hell.
the 0-coast seems to be the most distinct affordable semi-modular out there, and although most demos of it bore me, i heard a few which blew my mind. so i guess i'm just looking for any ole input related to that beast, or if i should consider other things. my polysix currently has the job of playing sequences and arps, among other things. my semi-modular wouldn't be doing that, it'd be focusing on drones, noises, sound effects, and piercing leads.
