M-Audio Code 49 and GarageBand

Hi all, first time posting here.

I'm about to purchase an M-Audio Code 40 keyboard, second-hand. It has a good price and I figure it's a good starter and then some.
As I'm a beginner, I intend to use it with GarageBand.

Are there any issues, that you guys know of, is it compatible? I'd hate to buy it and then get mired in troubleshooting and frustration.

Also, is midi freeze still an issue, or has it been fixed by a firmware update?
