Gear recommendations / tips on using Minibrute with a sequencer

Hi, I've been making music for a while but wanted to get more into electronic music. I have Arturia minibrute and arturia beatstep. Would something like drum machine or polyphonic synthesizer make sense ? I'm new to all of this so if you also have some advice on how to use these modules instead of just sequencing minibrute sound I would love to hear it.
