Control Ableton's Drumrack or Sampler with CV?

I am searching for a way to control Ableton's drumrack or sampler with my eurorack. The idea would be to use cv to select a sample in ableton and use an incoming trigger or gate signal to trigger that sample. Seems like it should be simple right?

I am using an ES-8 in conjunction with ableton's "CV tools" pack to integrate with Ableton. This combination works flawlessly for controlling my modular with ableton but it does not seem to be designed to use incoming cv to control drumrack or sampler as described. It might be possible to accomplish this by mapping cv to some midi effects, but I have yet to find a way to do this. I am particularly stumped finding a way to trigger samples.

Is anyone aware of any effect chains or M4L devices that might be able to do this?
