Good first synth?

I've been looking at entry-level budget synths for a couple weeks now. The two that really catch my eye are the Behringer Poly-D and the Korg Minilogue. I know a lot of people don't like Behringer, but I've had good experiences with their guitar pedals and audio interfaces. What would you recommend between the two, or would you choose something else in the $500-700 range?
