This is to some extent the "second volume" of an earlier post of mine, where I was looking for a good MIDI-to-CV converter. I got some good suggestions. Along that line the Novation SL was suggested as well, as a controller that puts out CV directly.
I also talked to a friend of mine who has something like 10 racks, to get his advice. He says he uses the Keystep, but that it feels a little flimsy -- he likes it for putting in rhythms, for playing live, etc. For studio use, he uses the Akai MK 261.
What's your favorite controller (that outputs CV) for your modular?
