Different samplers for different music genres

I like electronic music, and I am thinking about buying a digitakt for drums. My friend likes hip hop and he wants to buy an mpc. I feel like I don’t see a lot of mpc’s around here but maybe that’s because I’m just realizing the magic of them. The mpc 1000 is an affordable fully functional beat maker. 16 levels of velocity on the pads, take that elektron xD. It also has slicing which of course suits hip hop. I guess electronic music producers are more into programming and hip hop producers like to play it on the pads. Idk anyone produce Idm with an mpc 1000 or 2000 on here or even use one of the new versions like the mpc one?
