I am looking for my first and maybe final synth. I am a pure hobbyist who likes to jam and experiment with sounds and settings, rather than write complete songs.
Af the moment I only have a Digitakt and that’s awesome. But now after a year I would like to expand it with a hardware synth (VST’s just don’t work for me). Because I don’t have a particular style and not even making full songs but rather just simple loops. I looking for a pretty complete synth with a budget of around 500
So a small multitimbral would be a good solution for me. With only one synth I can add multiple sounds to multiple midi tracks on the Digitakt. (Basically what I am doing with VST’s now). In that budget range I am looking at the Waldorf Blofeld and the Dave Smith Tera.
What scares me off a bit is the deep menu diving and time it will take to actually get a sound, but I think the possibilities are more important.
Anyone have experience with these? Especially the Tetra, because I can’t really find a lot of info about it.
